A Streak of Spontaneity

Happy Dussehra! It has been a great start to my professional career as an Engineer! 3 months into it (started on 01/07/2019). Got to closely observe a DCS upgrade at one of the manufacturing plants. It has been great to interact with a lot of people. I wasn't very forthcoming initially which may have been tough to deal with so I do appreciate the overall response!
The other freshers have jelled into a cohesive group with the immediate seniors. I have too; but haven't hung out with them often. Yesterday was the last day of Navratri. So they had planned to go for Dandiya. And as always, I was in a fix whether to go (torn between the ideal of spending my time productively and the imminent possibility to have fun). It wasn't until yesterday evening that I decided to join them with a friend of mine (let us call him 'M'). I called them to ask where we should meet; quite excruciatingly they had cancelled.
I had planned to go because I really did want to hangout with them to build greater rapport. But alas, things do tend to follow Murphy's Law! Since I'd already taken the requisite permissions at home, I didn't want to waste the opportunity. So M & I left, aimlessly.
Streak of Spontaneity. Hoping that things will pan out well over the course of the night. And they did. Quite beautifully at that! Met some of our school friends despite the sheer lack of planning before going to the Dandiya venue. We had played blaring music on the way there to make up for the lack of company. But after meeting our old friends, we were okay, quite okay! Well, goes without saying, there was a bevy of celestially graceful beings.

One of our friends was performing professionally. M & I couldn't really fit in with our ridiculous steps but it was fun all the same. The atmosphere was electric. Then we went to McDonald's to top it off with a great burger and dessert.

Yesterday could have quite easily ended on a disappointing note. It is very unlike me to go about something without some prior planning. I had a fun time. No regrets. A streak of spontaneity can help stir some enthusiasm into your life. Hope I can replicate a spontaneous burst of resolve for being more productive as well!
